Kindergarten will be a very important year in your child’s academic success. It sets the foundation for your child’s attitude toward school now and in the future. It is my job to ensure your child has a positive experience in school. In Kindergarten your child will be introduced to reading skills, math skills, physical and social development. Daily lessons will include problem solving, critical thinking skills, acceptable social behaviors, independence, and activities that promote self-esteem. This will all be accomplished in a fun and exciting way. Throughout the year your child will be tested on their progress. You will receive four report cards.
Our main focus throughout our day will be learning the letters of the alphabet, learning letter sounds, reading sight words, number recognition, rote counting, and shape recognition. Under the "Kindergarten Lesson Plans" tab you can click on each week of the school year to find out what your child will be doing in school each day. If you have any questions/concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you, and I look forward to a great year ahead with your child!
