Substitute Teaching

Substitute Teaching

If you are interested in applying for a substitute teaching position, please contact Rachael Butler at 715-251-4541 or rbutler@niagara.k12.wi.us.

As a substitute teacher, you are required to complete the trainings listed below. After viewing each webcast, applicants will have the option to email their completion certificates. Please send all certificates to Rachael Butler at rbutler@niagara.k12.wi.us.

Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse & Neglect

Wisconsin Substitute Teaching License

In addition to emailing your training certificates, please also submit a copy of your Wisconsin Substitute Teaching License. If you do not currently have one, you will be allowed to substitute teach while in the process of obtaining it. After you complete 10 substitute assignments, we will reimburse you for the cost of the substitute license.

Becoming a Substitute Teacher from STEDI.org

Substitute teaching can be a challenging, yet highly rewarding job. Although it takes a lot of enthusiasm and hard work, you can build a set of skills that will help you become an expert substitute teacher. If you’re looking for job flexibility, days full of fun and variety, and enjoy investing in students—then substitute teaching may be for you!

To become an excellent substitute teacher, the most critical ability you can master is how to easily manage classroom behavior and teach effectively.
