VACANCY:
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE SUPERINTENDENT POSITION

The School District of Niagara is seeking an applicant for an administrative assistant position for 40 hours per week for 260 days per year.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a Notary Public.
- Prepare school board meeting agendas and materials and serve as the recording clerk for the Board of Education.
- Prepare all documents and legally required postings and notices on behalf of the Board of Education.
- Fulfill the role of Substitute Caller/Recorder, secure substitutes for certified and classified staff.
- Complete required Department of Public Instruction (DPI) reports including the PI-1202 staffing report, open enrollment reports, membership reports, and the Federal Civil Rights Data Collection.
- Maintain the district policy platform, BoardDocs.
- Coordinate District fundraising activities.
- Assist transportation coordinator.
- Work with Special Education leadership, manage department paperwork, compile student enrollment data and plans of service.
- Assist School Food Service Director with USDA and DPI requirements, manage free/reduced application process, contact families regarding food service balances and maintain Skyward data system for food service department.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all functions.
- Efficient management of multiple tasks within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer operations, encompassing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
- Strong capabilities with database and information systems software.
- Establish and adhere to priorities, ensuring timely completion of deadlines.
- Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Initiate tasks independently and with limited oversight.
- Ability to efficiently meet the needs of staff and supervisor.
- Required high school diploma or GED. Recommended associate degree.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Experience working in an office environment, fulfilling administrative duties, and providing support to leadership.
- Outstanding poise in a fast-paced educational environment.
- Prior experience within a school district is advantageous

Candidates must possess, or be eligible to obtain, a current Wisconsin DPI license for the level and content, additional licensing is a bonus. Candidates must have a student-centered teaching philosophy and excel at building positive relationships with students.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively as a member of a team.
- Develop and implement a standards-aligned and age-appropriate art curriculum that includes various art forms, techniques, and art history.
- Provide guidance and support to students in developing their artistic skills and encourage students to explore and develop their personal artistic style.
- Utilize technology to enrich lessons with digital resources including online galleries, educational apps, and digital creation tools.
- Foster a supportive learning environment and provide constructive feedback on students’ artwork.
- Develop and implement assessments to measure student progress and guide students in setting and achieving personal artistic goals.
Salary is $41,125 - $77,125 per year and is negotiable per years of teaching and additional licensing. Tuition reimbursement is available.

PAYROLL SPECIALIST
Deadline: Friday, April 5th, 2024 The School District of Niagara is seeking an applicant for a payroll specialist position for 40 hours per week - 260 days per year.
Responsibilities: This position has primary responsibility to prepare the district payroll and all related reporting requirements. This position will also support the district’s food service operations and perform other accounting and administrative duties. Essential Job Functions:
- Payroll Processing – Receives timesheets, reviews for accuracy and completeness, enters time data into payroll system, and processes district payroll. Analyzes payroll reports and checks for accuracy.
- System Maintenance – Enters new employees and maintains all payroll related deductions and information within the system.
- New hires and employee terminations - Assist with processing of newly hired employees and terminated employees.
- Communications – Answers employee questions, verifies employment for staff with banks and outside agencies, prepares written reports as requested.
- Benefit administration - Assist with benefit open enrollment, qualifying events, COBRA and FMLA.
- Annual reporting - Prepares W-2’s and other annual reports required by the district, state, and federal government. Reconciles W-2's and WRS to monthly submissions.
- Bank Deposits - Record bank deposits into Skyward software
- Accounts Payable - Process invoices and prepare vendor payments.
- Food Service - Maintain district food service records, prepare monthly food service claims, and submit claims to the Department of Public Instruction.
- Transportation - Work with the Transportation Coordinator to maintain transportation records on Skyward.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education - associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Human Resources or a related field, or similar experience.
- Minimum of three years of prior payroll experience, preferably in a school setting.
- Experience with spreadsheets computerized financial software.
- Experience in payroll processing and databases.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with Financial and Human Resources information.
- Detail-oriented, with exceptional time management and strong organization skills.
