Canoe Trip
The 7th grade students, under the guidance of Ms. Nicole Anderson and the guides from Renewable World Foundation, recently went on a canoe trip to explore an aquatic environment and preform environmental activities.  This year the students paddled around the Hamilton Chain of Lakes.  During this trip, the students were able to see an active beaver lodge and the dam that the beavers built.  They also were allowed to take home the timber that the beavers discarded from their lodge.  During our afternoon break, the students learned about the mechanical means for maintain lake water levels and toured the Lake Mary dam.  Throughout the trip, the students were able to find and obverse aquatic specimens that allowed them to conclude that the Hamilton Lakes system is a healthy environment.
